West Meads Surgery
FacebookRe: GP Collective Action
West Meads Surgery has already adopted the British Medical Association (BMA) Safe Working Guidance so that we can continue to deliver safe care to our patients.
This means you will not see a change to the appointments we offer as a result of this collective action.
The recommendation for GPs to take collective action has come from the BMA in response to a below inflation increase in funding for GP services. This has followed on from several years of real-terms reduction in overall funding for general practice. We support the principle that funding of general practice should be a higher priority for the NHS. We will be looking at the other recommendations from the BMA in the coming weeks to decide on any further changes to our processes, but do not expect this to affect our appointment availability.
Kindest regards,
West Meads GP Surgery
